For Imad Sanouni, caricature is a means to fight corruption and be able to face society. He adopted a witty style to touch on sensitive issues and controversial topics through caricature.
Imad was born in Casablanca on 26 March 1979. He started drawing at a very young age and considers his father to be his first teacher as he was brought up in an artistic environment that appreciates arts and caters for talent.
He graduated from the Higher Institute for Fine Arts and worked as a press cartoonist at the Moroccan Baboubi satirical magazine where he started his professional career in caricature and cartoons. This experience was highly enriching for the artist as he worked with an audacious team that did not hesitate in crossing red lines.
Imad sees his style as spontaneous and rooted in the preoccupations of the general public. After all, he said, caricature is inspired by its social surroundings.
Imad considers that the February 20 Movement in Morocco has affected the progress and development of press caricature and cartoons as it provided new territory and raw material for young artists’ production.

المغرب
يعتبر عماد السنوني فن الكاريكاتور إحدى وسائل محاربة الفساد ومواجهة المجتمع ، فهو يلعب على ملامسة الأوتار الحساسة والمشي نحو المنحذرات الزلقة لهذا الفن .
ولد في مدينة الدار البيضاء في المغرب في 26 آذار (مارس) عام 1979 ، كان يرسم منذ نعومة أظافره واعتبر والده هو معلمه الأول ، فقد تربى في بيئة فنية تقدس الفنون وترعى المواهب.
تخرج من المدرسة العليا للفنون الجميلة ، وعمل كرسام صحفي في موقع بابوبي الساخر الذي أضاف له الكثير لأنه كان يعمل مع طاقم كانت ميزته الجرأة ، واجتياز الخطوط الحمراء وهنا كانت بداية التحاقه بعالم الكاريكاتور بشكل احترافي .
يرى نفسه كرسام كاريكاتور يميل الى العفوية ، والى المواضيع التي تشغل الرأي العام ، فالرسم الكاريكاتوري كما يقول يجد الهامه من خلال محيطه الاجتماعي .
يعتبر السنوني أن حركة 20 فبراير قد أثرت في تطور ونمو مستوى الكاريكاتور والرسم الصحفي لأنها أوجدت مادة خام وأرضا جديدة لتطور منتوجات الفنانون الشباب .
