Saudi Arabia
The caricaturist Talal Fahd Al Shashaa was born in the city of Haíil in Saudi Arabia in 1977.
He held his first exhibition in Haíil in 1997, displaying social and political caricatures which largely dealt with the Palestinian issue, which has occupied a prominent place in his work and thoughts.
In 1998, he held his second exhibition, in collaboration with the Taai Sports Club, which was inaugurated by the then deputy-governor of the area. He has also participated in many other art exhibitions for sports and literature clubs.
In 2005, he worked as a caricaturist for the ìAl Iktissadiyaî Saudi newspaper, before becoming editor for the weekly cartoon page at the newspaper, to which he continued to contribute, alongside other artists.
He then became editor of the ìVoice of the Peopleî daily page, until the end of 2008, when he resigned because the newspaper would not let him return to caricature.
Shashaa has published, ìFrom Caricature: Practical, Theoretical and Applicable Study,î which features an introduction by Youssed El Kwelit, vice-editor in chief of ìAl Riyadhî newspaper. He also published a book of caricatures, ìBlack and White,î in 1997, the publication of which coincided with the opening of his first personal exhibition.
Talal Fahd Al Shashaa is currently a caricaturist for the ìAl Jazeeraî newspaper, where he continues to voice his opinions about the Gulf.

ولد الرسام الكاريكاتوري طلال فهد الشعشاع في مدينة حائل الواقعة شمال المملكة العربية السعودية في العام 1977.
نبوغه المبكر وريشته المطواعة جعلاه يقيم معرضه الشخصي الأول لفن الكاريكاتور عام 1977 في مدينة حائل حيث تضمّن ذلك المعرض رسوماً كاريكاتورية اجتماعية وسياسية تناولت بمجملها القضية الفلسطينية على وجه التحديد، هذه القضية المحورية التي أخذت الحيّز الأكبر من تفكيره وأعماله.
أما في العام 1998 فقد أقام معرضه الثاني مع نادي الطائي الرياضي والذي افتتحه آنذاك وكيل إمارة المنطقة.
كما شارك طلال فهد الشعشاع في العديد من المعارض الفنية للأندية الرياضية والأدبية. عمل الشعشاع في جريدة «اليوم» السعودية رساماً للكاريكاتور في صفحة الرأي وذلك عام 2000.
في العام 2005 عمل في جريدة «الاقتصادية» السعودية كرسام كاريكاتور ثم انتقل بعدها الى إدارة تحرير صفحة (من الكاريكاتور) التي كانت تصدر تلك الفترة بشكل أسبوعي مع رسامي الكاريكاتور في الجريدة.
بعدها انتقل الى تحرير صفحة «صوت الناس» ومن ثم صفحة «الناس» اليومية حتى نهاية العام 2008 حيث قدم استقالته للجريدة لأنها رفضت عودته لرسم الكاريكاتور حينها.
ألّف شعشاع كتاباً بعنوان «من الكاريكاتور دراسة عملية نظري وتطبيقية» الذي كتب مقدمته الأستاذ يوسف الكويليت نائب رئيس تحرير جريدة الرياض، ويعدّ هذا الكتاب مؤلفاً شاملاً يتناول فن الكاريكاتور من كافة جوانبه الفنية، العلمية، والنقدية. كما سبق له وأصدر كتاب كاريكاتور بعنوان «أبيض وأسود» عام 1997 تزامناً مع إطلاق معرضه الشخصي الأول آنذاك.
يعمل طال بن فهد الشعشاع حاليً رسامً كاريكاتوريً في الصفحة الرئيسية السياسية من جريدة الجزيرة. من رسومات الشعشاع تبين لنا أنه يغمس ريشته في مداد الهم العربي الممتد من الخليج الى المحيط.
